We have personally given out hundreds of Bibles to Jewish people in the last two years. While the focus of our ministry is to reach the Jews with the gospel, we do not neglect God’s command to go “unto the uttermost parts of the earth.” In obedience to this command, Messiah Baptist Church recently took on for monthly support its 16th missionary family. By the grace of God, we have been able to be faithful each month to send out the support on time. Praise the Lord!
Each week we also go out into the highways and hedges to try to compel men to come into the house of God. Sometimes we go door to door striving to visit at least 100 homes per week. Other times we are passing out tracts to those tailgating at UGA football games, street festivals, etc. At an International Day festival downtown where we were able to distribute over 1,000 tracts in 25 different languages to people from 15 different countries. We are constantly finding new ways to preach the Gospel publicly and from house to house.
The other day we were headed downtown to distribute copies of the Book of John printed for us by Dr. Ron Young and Antioch Printing Ministry. When we passed the area where the International Festival was held last year, we saw booths crowding the streets again. Assuming that it was another festival, we loaded up our materials and went. As we got closer we realized that it was a hippie festival instead. Everyone was wearing tie-dyed shirts and holding up signs protesting the war. Every environmentalist and liberal group you can imagine was there. They were protesting every moral, political, and social view I have. We were able to pass out lots of booklets and even meet a pro-life group who set up a booth. Over all, the day went well. Sometimes God will take us out of our comfort zone to tell others about Him.
We are planning two separate street preaching rallies in Jewish neighborhoods with the help of several sister churches during the month of June. During this time we will be preaching as well as holding up signs and banners showing support for Israel as well as showing Jesus to be the Jewish Messiah. Please pray for this event.
