Most know that Jesus was the Passover Lamb, but not much else about this Jewish holiday. Passover makes for great preaching. For example, there were four cups used at the Lord’s Supper which was a Passover Seder. Each cup has significant meaning. To prove this, Luke is careful to point out that it was of the cup after the meal that Jesus said “This is my blood.” There is a reason He chose that cup and not one of the other three! This makes a great study. Also, the sop was a “Hillel sandwich” of bitter herbs and matzah dipped in charoset that is given to one whom you love dearly. Jesus gave His to Judas! Passover is also a great time to witness to Jews. We were able to attend a Passover banquet along with several friends. We made new Jewish friends and were able to help distribute over 400 Hebrew-English New Testaments to Jews. Amen!
